Across languages and borders, the idea is simple: bringing research closer to society.
Organised under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), European Researchers’ Night invites people to meet researchers, explore their work and discover its impact on everyday life through experiments, demonstrations, exhibitions, discussions and other activities.
30 years of Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions
This year also marks 30 years of the MSCA, which have supported more than 150,000 researchers since 1996.
In 2025, 1.5 million people took part in activities across 460 cities in 25 countries, meeting researchers and discovering the people and ideas behind science. The scale of the initiative reflects a broader ambition: not only to showcase research, but to strengthen the relationship between research and society, encourage young people to explore research careers and make science accessible to people from all backgrounds.
Among the researchers supported through the programme over the past three decades are 23 Nobel Prize winners.
Today, the MSCA continue to support researchers at different stages of their careers while encouraging international, interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration.
Connecting researchers across Europe
The spirit of European Researchers’ Night closely reflects the ambitions of WEM Cyber: creating opportunities for researchers to connect, exchange knowledge and develop their careers across borders and sectors.
WEM Cyber focuses specifically on women in cybersecurity research and innovation, supporting international and cross-sector mobility between academia and industry alongside mentoring, training and professional development.
In a field as rapidly evolving as cybersecurity, these connections matter. Bringing together different expertise, experiences and perspectives strengthens both the research community and Europe’s capacity to respond to emerging digital challenges.
